We are here to help provide answers to your questions and, more importantly, to help your child to gain the skills and mindset they need to succeed.

Hi! I'm Dr. Judie Harrington and I started NRICH Tutoring a few years ago to help kids that were struggling with reading and math. If that is one of your children, please give me a call and we can have free consultation.* We can figure out what's going on and figure out ways to help them.

Contact Dr. Judie at NRICH Tutoring for a Free Consultation!*
*A free consultation is a conversation (15-30 minutes) by phone, email, Zoom, or in-person. This no-cost, no-obligation consultation is often followed by an evaluation of the student. An evaluation is typically 1-2 sessions, with fees ranging from $60 to $120 for those who sign up for tutoring. Evaluations are for internal use and are not for diagnosis of any learning disability.

Does your child need help with reading, spelling, or writing?

Many parents who have read to their child every night and provided lots of opportunities for their child to read and write, still find that it just doesn't click for them. The teachers say to just wait, they will grow out of it - or just read more and it will come. Well, a parent knows that something is not right. Their child is smart but has trouble with reading. Their spelling is still inventive even in second grade. They do not like to read (but they love to listen to stories!) or get very tired when they do.  It is a battle to get them to do their spelling words - they might eventually do well on spelling tests but they have just memorized words for the test but don't know them the week later. Writing is difficult even though your child has a lot to say. If  this sounds like someone you know, please contact Dr. Judie at NRICH Tutoring. We specialize in helping kids with literacy issues and we will be glad to help your child.

Does your child need help with math?

Are you struggling to help your child with "new math," to understand fractions, or to learn their times tables? It can be frustrating and difficult for parents to help their own child with math, especially if the parent has some math anxiety. Kids pick up on the anxiety and can develop it as well. NRICH Tutoring can help kids with math to reduce anxiety and can confidence as they build number sense.

Does your child need general help with homework or test prep?

Students can be overwhelmed with homework and assignments due to lack of organization. They lose assignments or forget to do them. They do the assignments but forget to turn them in. They may not know how to study for tests so their test scores do not reflect what they know. They may get behind and not know how to catch up. Middle school is a big transition time where students have to keep on top of assignments from many teachers so this is often a time when kids can flounder. If you have a student who is having trouble keeping up with their schoolwork, NRICH Tutoring can help!
